Hello Dear Followers,

I know I have been quiet the last week or so, life sort of gets in the way of things you want to do in order to complete the things you have to do. Anywho, I finally completed Book 1 of “Ghellow Road” by T.H. Waters.

I have to begin by giving the author credit for being able to step outside herself and write about her life and from what I’ve read so far, she has definitely not led an easy life.

As soon as I began this book, I knew something horrific as a suicide would occur, and for many pages I kept wondering who it would be, while I will not give it entirely away, it definitely surprised me.  I give the author credit again for being able to write such a terrible moment in her life, having to re-live that moment as best she could.

The times she shared with her family, brought back my own memories of my childhood, and I would never compare my own life to the author’s in any way, it made me realize how lucky I was to have the family I did. I can’t even begin to understand what she went through.

I do  know what it’s like to come from a  family and  have one person dictate how the well being of the family  for reasons beyond anyone’s control.  What I also thought was interesting was the title of the book, which is the name of the street the author lived on.

To this day, one of the many things that stands out about my own home, is the name of the street, it wasn’t anything  out of the ordinary, but it will just  always hold a special place in my heart.

It was where my earliest memories were formed, where my first sense of safety was developed.

I have never forgotten this home or the memories in it, so often many of my dreams occur in that house, some might say it’s not being able to let go, but you can’t control your dreams.

One quote that stood out for me so far in reading the book  was this, and I found it to be so true – “It is disturbing how the emotion of one single event, frozen in time, can conquer you so completely. It gnaws your innards like a starved coyote, always wanting more than you have to give.”

Such an unbelievable and poignant quote that makes you realize that no matter what happens in life, you are not alone in your struggles, we are all fighting our own battles.

Until next time…
